With a wealth of experience from previous positions in network management, the development of industry initiatives, as well as in location development and analysis, Carmen Schmidt has been instrumental in developing the LIHH network since its foundation in 2006. In 2011 she became part of the management of LIHH. She played a major role in the repositioning of LIHH and has been the sole managing director of Management GmbH since 01.07.2018.

From the very beginning, the doctor of engineering has been closely involved in the LIHH cluster management as a contact person for the southern metropolitan region. His work as a consultant in the public and private sector as well as experience from projects for business development and companies make Dr. Glaser a valuable partner. As an authorised signatory of Süderelbe AG, he has been the LIHH office manager for the entire metropolitan region since 2015. From linguistics to logistics and from the deep south to the far north of Germany!
Since September 2019, Michael is responsible for a diverse set of People & Culture topics at the LIHH. He develops and initiates projects and events in the areas of talent acquisition, future work, employer branding, new work to counteract the shortage of skilled workers in logistics. His main focus is the continuous development of our corporate brand "Logistik Lernen Hamburg" (Learning Logistics Hamburg) in order to communicate the professional career opportunities of the branch to the public and to support our member companies in recruiting.

Sie leitete internationale Projekte, hauptsächlich im Grenzbereich von Informatik (KI) und Geographie und entwickelte an der HAW Hamburg u.a. an einem digitalen Zwilling des multi-modalen Verkehrs mit. Neben dem Projektmanagement innerhalb der LIHH wird sie auch das Professorium betreuen und den Bereich Innovationen unterstützen.

Ms. Gouveia ( Birthname Busch) came into contact with the logistics industry and the topic of green logistics during her studies through her work in the Central Environmental Department of Hamburg Airport. Seit November 2025 unterstützt Jasmin als Junior Projektmanagerin bei den EU-Projekten InnoWaTr und Decarbomile mit und wirkt bei den Fachkreisen Schiene und Urbaner Lieferverkehr mit. Durch ihren Master Applied Research on Logistics und der Arbeit in der Forschungsgruppe für optimierte Wertschöpfung als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin, kam sie unter anderem mit Prozessoptimierung in KMUs und Forschung im Bereich Supply Chain Riskmanagement in Kontakt. Als dortige Projektleitung im Projekt DigitizePro (Prozessoptimierung bei einer KMU) und in ihrem Bachelor "International Management mit Vertiefung Logistik", sammelte sie weitere wertvolle Erfahrungen.

Verena Jahn joined the LIHH team in March 2023 as a Project Manager for Marketing & Communication and is mainly responsible for the project communication of the EU projects "Connected River" and "MoLo Hubs". After holding various marketing positions, she most recently worked at Hamburg Messe as a Project Manager for SMM, the world's leading trade fair for the maritime industry, and has many years of experiences within the international trade fair business.

Seit Oktober 2023 ist Alexander Lehmann der Buchhalter bei der LIHH und war zuvor 21 Jahre in einem Emissionshaus und in der Schifffahrt tätig. Er ist neben allen Belangen rund um die Buchhaltung auch unser Reisekostenmanager und für interne Reportings sowie die Mittelabrufe verantwortlich. Nachhaltigkeit liegt ihm am Herzen sowie alles rund um die Bahn und den ÖPNV.

Henry Mahlke has been working as a project manager at LIHH since May 2023. Among other things, he is responsible for the last mile and the projects DECARBOMILE and LogIsInTheAir.
Thanks to his extensive experience in logistics, gained through training as a warehouse logistics specialist and further training as a logistics master, he has the necessary expertise and is very familiar with the operational logistics business.
He most recently worked as a dispatcher in a retail and mail order company, where he gained in-depth experience in dispatching and warehousing.

Since March 2019, Lutz Birke has been Head of Office I "Ports and Innovation" of the Ministry of Economics and Innovation. After 14 years of service in the German Federal Armed Forces, his civil career began in 2005 at the Hamburg Parliament, where he was responsible for the topics of transport, urban development and environment. She has been involved in voluntary work from the very beginning. For example, she is on the board of the Verband Straßengüterverkehr Hamburg (VSH), on the board of the Kundendienst-Verband Deutschland (KVD), a member of the plenum of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and also heads the Logistics, Port and Shipping Committee there. Since 2021 she has been Chairwoman of the Board of LIHH e.V. and Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of Logistik-Initiative Hamburg, and since 2022 Deputy Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of LIHH Management GmbH.

Ute Plambeck has been Group Representative for the states of HH and SH at Deutsche Bahn since 01.03.2023. Previously, she was Head of Human Resources at DB Netz AG, Head of North at DB Station & Service and held various positions at DB and predecessor organisations. positions at DB and predecessor organisations. As co-founder of the LIHH, Prof. Dr. Peer Witten has been actively involved in the LIHH network since 2006 and supports us with his knowledge and experience in our thematic work and strategic orientation. In 2005 he was honoured with the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon and his logistical milestones were recognised in 2017 when he was inducted into the Logistics Hall of Fame.

After studying industrial engineering in Hamburg, he earned his doctorate in quality management at the Institute of Information Systems at the University of Hamburg. He then worked for pdv Unternehmensberatung GmbH. Since 2001, Dr. Peter Bielert has been working for F. Reyher Nchfg. GmbH & Co. KG in Hamburg in the areas of IT and logistics. Since 2009, he has been managing director of the company and is also responsible for purchasing, accounting and human resources.

Rainer Fabian bringt sein Wissen und seine Erfahrung aus mehr als 30 Jahren in der Hafenwirtschaft ein. Er ist seit 2023 Geschäftsführer bei dem 1890 gegründeten Unternehmen H.D.Cotterell Gmbh&Co. KG, welches seit nun fünf Generationen als Familienunternehmen geführt wird. Das seit 2021 klimaneutrale Unternehmen sorgt als Quartiersmannbetrieb für die Lagerung und Pflege von Produkten wie Rohkakao, Trockenfrüchten und Gewürzen an 5 Standorten im Hamburger Hafen. Nach dem Studium der Betriebswirtschaft begann Fabian eine Traineeausbildung bei der HHLA und startete als Controller und später als Vertriebsmitarbeiter im Fruchtbereich. Er wechselte dann als Geschäftsführer zur Firma Berthold Vollers in Hamburg und war seit 2010 für das Süd-West Terminal der niederländischen C.Steinweg-Gruppe in Hamburg verantwortlich. Die Nähe zu den umgeschlagenen Gütern, ob Bananen, Kakao, Kaffee oder Schwergut ist ihm wichtig, damit auch der Kontakt zur nationalen und internationalen Kundschaft. Seit Februar 2025 ist er Präsident des Unternehmensverband Hafen Hamburg, nachdem er seit 2014 bereits als Vize-Präsident fungierte.

Dr Heiko Fischer studied economics in Germany and the USA. He received his doctorate from Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg in 1996. Dr Fischer began his professional career at VTG in 1995. In May 2004, Dr Fischer was appointed Chairman of the Executive Board of VTG AG. He is also a member of the Supervisory Board of Navigator Holdings Ltd., which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, and is President of the International Union of Wagon Keepers (UIP) in Brussels. In June 2021, he stepped down as Chairman of the Executive Board and has been a Senior Advisor at VTG since July 2021. In May 2023, Dr Fischer was appointed Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Northrail AG.

Nach seinem Studium zum Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur stieg er 1995 zunächst als IT-Consultant in die Branche ein und fokussierte sich dann zunehmend auf die Logistikbranche. Seine Leidenschaft zur Logistik zeigt sich auch in seinem Engagement zur Förderung der Branche am Standort Hamburg. So ist er Gründungsmitglied der LIHH und des Digital Hub Logistics und trägt als Kuratoriumsmitglied des ITMC-Management-Studiengangs der Uni Hamburg zur Förderung der Nachwuchskräfte in der Logistikbranche bei. Seit April 2024 ist er Mitglied des Vorstandes des Logistik-Initiative Hamburg e.V.

Alice Kirchheim ist seit 1. April 2024 Leiterin für den Institutsbereich Materialflusssysteme am Fraunhofer IML sowie für den Lehrstuhl Förder- und Lagerwesen an der Technischen Universität Dortmund.
Ihr Studium absolvierte Alice Kirchheim an der Technischen Universität Hamburg-Harburg. Nach dem Abschluss als Diplom Informatikingenieurin war sie zuerst am Bremer Institut für Produktion und Logistik an der Universität Bremen und später an der Hochschule Reutlingen als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin tätig. Ihre Dissertation verfasste sie über die Erkennung von Stückgütern für die automatische Entladung aus Ladungsträgern. Im Zeitraum von 2013 bis 2019 war Alice Kirchheim in verschiedenen Unternehmen der KION Gruppe in unterschiedlichen Positionen im Vertrieb manueller und automatischer Logistiksystemen tätig. Anschließend war sie als Professorin an der Hochschule Aalen tätig. Von März 2022 bis März 2023 war sie als Professorin für Technologie von Logistiksystemen an der Helmut-Schmidt-Universität / Universität der Bundeswehr in Hamburg tätig.
