Our Team

With a wealth of experience from previous positions in network management, the development of industry initiatives, as well as in location development and analysis, Carmen Schmidt has been instrumental in developing the LIHH network since its foundation in 2006. In 2011 she became part of the management of LIHH. She played a major role in the repositioning of LIHH and has been the sole managing director of Management GmbH since 01.07.2018.

From the very beginning, the doctor of engineering has been closely involved in the LIHH cluster management as a contact person for the southern metropolitan region. His work as a consultant in the public and private sector as well as experience from projects for business development and companies make Dr. Glaser a valuable partner. As an authorised signatory of Süderelbe AG, he has been the LIHH office manager for the entire metropolitan region since 2015. Since 2018 he has also held the position of Managing Director of LIHH Service GmbH.

From linguistics to logistics and from the deep south to the far north of Germany!

Since September 2019, Michael is responsible for a diverse set of People & Culture topics at the LIHH. He develops and initiates projects and events in the areas of talent acquisition, future work, employer branding, new work to counteract the shortage of skilled workers in logistics. His main focus is the continuous development of our corporate brand "Logistik Lernen Hamburg" (Learning Logistics Hamburg) in order to communicate the professional career opportunities of the branch to the public and to support our member companies in recruiting.

Born in Hamburg, she has been bringing momentum to the LIHH team since 2013. After her training as a paralegal, she worked in various Hamburg companies (including Manager Magazin, SPIEGEL Verlag, Panasonic Deutschland, Thyssen Krupp Bausysteme). She is the first contact person for administrative questions and interest in trade fair participation. As the organizer of the Logistics Breakfast she is your contact person to get involved in terms of content. 

Since 2017, Mr. Brauner has been initiating and supervising innovation projects in the LIHH network and has been promoting them. With many years of expertise, including as a management consultant in the field of logistics, ports & transport, Mr Brauner identifies relevant innovation topics and project ideas. In addition, he advises our member companies on suitable funding opportunities and, if required, accompanies them from application to implementation.

Seit Ende 2023 ergänzt die promovierte Geographin und Umweltwissenschaftlerin das Team und bringt ihre Erfahrungen aus der Wissenschaft mit. Sie leitete internationale Projekte, hauptsächlich im Grenzbereich von Informatik (KI) und Geographie und entwickelte an der HAW Hamburg u.a. an einem digitalen Zwilling des multi-modalen Verkehrs mit. Neben dem Projektmanagement innerhalb der LIHH wird sie auch das Professorium betreuen und den Bereich Innovationen unterstützen.

What would the "Hamburger Logsitik-Sommerfest" be without our Steffi!? Year after year she turns our events into networking highlights. Since 2016, she has been looking after our members (and all those who want to become members), is the contact person for all matters and ensures that everything runs smoothly at the Risk + Law Working Group. The Karlsruhe-born and cheerful woman has been living in her adopted city of Hamburg since 2016, after a few stays abroad.

Ms. Gouveia ( Birthname Busch) came into contact with the logistics industry and the topic of green logistics during her studies through her work in the Central Environmental Department of Hamburg Airport. After further experience in consulting and development of company-specific solutions in sustainability management, she has been supporting the LIHH team since 2019 in the fields of "sustainability" and "innovative infrastructure and land use".

Seit November 2025 unterstützt Jasmin als Junior Projektmanagerin bei den EU-Projekten InnoWaTr und Decarbomile mit und wirkt bei den Fachkreisen Schiene und Urbaner Lieferverkehr mit. Durch ihren Master Applied Research on Logistics und der Arbeit in der Forschungsgruppe für optimierte Wertschöpfung als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin, kam sie unter anderem mit Prozessoptimierung in KMUs und Forschung im Bereich Supply Chain Riskmanagement in Kontakt. Als dortige Projektleitung im Projekt DigitizePro (Prozessoptimierung bei einer KMU) und in ihrem Bachelor "International Management mit Vertiefung Logistik", sammelte sie weitere wertvolle Erfahrungen.

Verena Jahn joined the LIHH team in March 2023 as a Project Manager for Marketing & Communication and is mainly responsible for the project communication of the EU projects "Connected River" and "MoLo Hubs". After holding various marketing positions, she most recently worked at Hamburg Messe as a Project Manager for SMM, the world's leading trade fair for the maritime industry, and has many years of experiences within the international trade fair business.

Seit Januar 2026 ist Natascha Koppermann bei der LIHH als Projektmanagerin für das Projekt TALENTready tätig und engagiert sich für die Fachkräftesicherung in Hamburger Unternehmen. Als Wirtschaftspsychologin und Change Managerin bringt sie Erfahrung im Employer Branding und Recruiting, u.a. in der Logistik mit. Besonders am Herzen liegen ihr Mitarbeitendenbindung, Mental Health und innovative Ansätze im Personalwesen.

Seit Oktober 2023 ist Alexander Lehmann der Buchhalter bei der LIHH und war zuvor 21 Jahre in einem Emissionshaus und in der Schifffahrt tätig. Er ist neben allen Belangen rund um die Buchhaltung auch unser Reisekostenmanager und für interne Reportings sowie die Mittelabrufe verantwortlich. Nachhaltigkeit liegt ihm am Herzen sowie alles rund um die Bahn und den ÖPNV.

Henry Mahlke has been working as a project manager at LIHH since May 2023. Among other things, he is responsible for the last mile and the projects DECARBOMILE and LogIsInTheAir.
Thanks to his extensive experience in logistics, gained through training as a warehouse logistics specialist and further training as a logistics master, he has the necessary expertise and is very familiar with the operational logistics business.
He most recently worked as a dispatcher in a retail and mail order company, where he gained in-depth experience in dispatching and warehousing.

Dank ihres Masterstudiums in Nachhaltigkeitswissenschaften und ihrer branchenübergreifenden Kenntnisse im Nachhaltigkeitsmanagement ist Elisabeth Monich die ideale Ansprechpartnerin für die Mitgliedsunternehmen bei allen Nachhaltigkeitsanliegen. Zusätzlich übernimmt sie die Projektkoordination des Förderprojektes KLIMAready, welches Organisationen dabei unterstützt, sich aktiv mit den Chancen und Herausforderungen des Klimawandels auseinanderzusetzen.

Erika Pahl unterstützt das Team als Teamassistenz bei administrativen und organisatorischen Aufgaben – von der Terminplanung über die Veranstaltungskoordination bis hin zur Datenpflege. Durch ihren Bachelorabschluss in BWL sowie ihre Praxiserfahrung im Projekt- und Kampagnenmanagement bringt sie Know-how für die Begleitung interner Projekte und Messen mit.

Entonio studiert aktuell Außenwirtschaft / International Management (B.Sc.) an der Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften Hamburg. Er bringt Erfahrung als Dolmetscher mit und unterstützt seit Mai 2025 als Werkstudent aktiv den Bereich „Innovation“ - insbesondere bei der Planung, Organisation und Umsetzung vielfältiger Projekte.

Sophronius Schalies has been working as a project manager at LIHH since February 2024. He is responsible for the DECARBOMILE project, the specialist groups Logistics Real Estate and Urban Delivery Traffic, as well as the Urban Logistics Contact Point. Before joining LIHH, he advised SMEs in the logistics sector and also worked as a lecturer.

Nach dem erreichen seiner Fachhochschulreife am Wirtschaftlichen Gymnasium in 2024, begann Linus im September 2025 seine Ausbildung zum Kaufmann für Büromanagement, dessen praktischen Teil er bei der LIHH absolviert.

Seit Juni 2025 arbeitet Tina als Junior Projektmanagerin an verschiedenen nationalen wie internationalen Projekten mit und unterstützt beim Fachkreis Logistikimmobilien und dem Professorium. Durch ihren Master in Internationalem Logistikmanagement und Werkstudententätigkeiten in den Bereichen Innovation und Supply Chain Management, kam sie unter anderem mit nachhaltigen Logistikinnovationen und der Planung von Distributionsnetzwerken in Kontakt.

Adele ist seit Januar 2025 im Bereich Personal & Qualifizierung als duale Studentin aktiv und unterstützt hier den Projektmanager.

Zuvor hat sie 2024 ihre Ausbildung zur kaufmännischen Assistentin mit Schwerpunkt Fremdsprache erfolgreich abgeschlossen. Begleitend zu ihren Tätigkeiten bei der LIHH studiert sie an der IU und strebt den Bachelor in Personalmanagement an.

Hannah Witt has been working as a Junior Project Manager in the field of sustainability since August 2023 and in this role supports national and international funding projects such as Connected River and MoLo Hubs. During her Master's degree in Transformation Studies, she focused on topics of socio-ecological sustainability, intersectionality, social and climate justice and specialized in the transformation of mobility infrastructures.

Since March 2019, Lutz Birke has been Head of Office I "Ports and Innovation" of the Ministry of Economics and Innovation. After 14 years of service in the German Federal Armed Forces, his civil career began in 2005 at the Hamburg Parliament, where he was responsible for the topics of transport, urban development and environment. After holding various positions (2005 - 2010) and leading positions at the Hamburg Port Authority (2010 - 2019), in which he was jointly responsible for the strategic development of the Port of Hamburg, he has also been a member of the LIHH Supervisory Board since June 2019.

Kerstin Wendt-Heinrich is Managing Director of TOP Mehrwert-Logistik GmbH & Co. KG. At the age of 18, she took over the human resources department of the family-owned company and joined the management team after graduating with a degree in business administration. She has been involved in voluntary work from the very beginning. For example, she is on the board of the Verband Straßengüterverkehr Hamburg (VSH), on the board of the Kundendienst-Verband Deutschland (KVD), a member of the plenum of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and also heads the Logistics, Port and Shipping Committee there. Since 2021 she has been Chairwoman of the Board of LIHH e.V. and Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of Logistik-Initiative Hamburg, and since 2022 Deputy Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of LIHH Management GmbH.

Ute Plambeck has been Group Representative for the states of HH and SH at Deutsche Bahn since 01.03.2023. Previously, she was Head of Human Resources at DB Netz AG, Head of North at DB Station & Service and held various positions at DB and predecessor organisations. positions at DB and predecessor organisations. She has been a member of the LIHH Executive Board again since April 2024 after being an active member from 2009-2014.

The business graduate was appointed to the Management Board of DHL Freight GmbH in 2015, as Head of Sales & Marketing, Germany. Since 2018 he has also been responsible for the Austria division. Since 2020 he is the Chief Sales Officer of DHL Freight. Mr. Schneemann has been a member of the board of LIHH e.V. since 2009. Since 2018, he has also assumed the task of representing the economic side of the public-private partnership on the Supervisory Board of Management GmbH.

Dr Tina Wagner is Head of the Transport Department since August 2023. With a doctorate in civil engineering and transport planning, she joined the City of Hamburg in 2009. Since 2017, she has been responsible for strategies and measures for urban and environmentally friendly mobility and an efficient transport infrastructure in Hamburg as Head of the Transport Development Department. Wagner has been a member of the LIHH Supervisory Board since 2018.

As co-founder of the LIHH, Prof. Dr. Peer Witten has been actively involved in the LIHH network since 2006 and supports us with his knowledge and experience in our thematic work and strategic orientation. Prof. Witten is a member of the supervisory board of the Otto Group and honorary chairman of the Bundesvereinigung Logistik e.V. . In 2005 he was honoured with the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon and his logistical milestones were recognised in 2017 when he was inducted into the Logistics Hall of Fame.

Dr. Peter Bielert was born in 1964 in Verden an der Aller. After studying industrial engineering in Hamburg, he earned his doctorate in quality management at the Institute of Information Systems at the University of Hamburg. He then worked for pdv Unternehmensberatung GmbH. Since 2001, Dr. Peter Bielert has been working for F. Reyher Nchfg. GmbH & Co. KG in Hamburg in the areas of IT and logistics. Since 2009, he has been managing director of the company and is also responsible for purchasing, accounting and human resources.

In an honorary capacity, he is also a member of the Executive Committee of the AGA Unternehmensverband, Hamburg and of the Executive Committee of the Bundesverband Großhandel, Außenhandel, Dienstleistungen e.V., BGA, Berlin.

Rainer Fabian bringt sein Wissen und seine Erfahrung aus mehr als 30 Jahren in der Hafenwirtschaft ein. Er ist seit 2023 Geschäftsführer bei dem 1890 gegründeten Unternehmen H.D.Cotterell Gmbh&Co. KG, welches seit nun fünf Generationen als Familienunternehmen geführt wird. Das seit 2021 klimaneutrale Unternehmen sorgt als Quartiersmannbetrieb für die Lagerung und Pflege von Produkten wie Rohkakao, Trockenfrüchten und Gewürzen an 5 Standorten im Hamburger Hafen. Nach dem Studium der Betriebswirtschaft begann Fabian eine Traineeausbildung bei der HHLA und startete als Controller und später als Vertriebsmitarbeiter im Fruchtbereich. Er wechselte dann als Geschäftsführer  zur Firma Berthold Vollers in Hamburg und war seit 2010 für das Süd-West Terminal der niederländischen C.Steinweg-Gruppe in Hamburg verantwortlich. Die Nähe zu den umgeschlagenen Gütern, ob Bananen, Kakao, Kaffee oder Schwergut ist ihm wichtig, damit auch der Kontakt zur nationalen und internationalen Kundschaft. Seit Februar 2025 ist er Präsident des Unternehmensverband Hafen Hamburg, nachdem er seit 2014 bereits als Vize-Präsident fungierte.

Dr Heiko Fischer studied economics in Germany and the USA. He received his doctorate from Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg in 1996. Dr Fischer began his professional career at VTG in 1995. In May 2004, Dr Fischer was appointed Chairman of the Executive Board of VTG AG. He is also a member of the Supervisory Board of Navigator Holdings Ltd., which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, and is President of the International Union of Wagon Keepers (UIP) in Brussels. In June 2021, he stepped down as Chairman of the Executive Board and has been a Senior Advisor at VTG since July 2021. In May 2023, Dr Fischer was appointed Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Northrail AG.

After studying mechanical engineering and business administration, Jens Hansen worked as a freelance engineer and controller for a Hamburg publishing house. He joined HHLA at the end of 2003. Initially he built up controlling for Container Terminal Altenwerder (CTA); from 2007 he was head of controlling for all HHLA's container terminal companies. In 2011 he became a member of the management board of Container Terminal Burchardkai (CTB). He has been a member of HHLA's Executive Board since April 2017 and is responsible for Operations, Technology and Information Systems.

Carlos Jahn began his professional career in the German Navy. He studied mechanical engineering and economics and subsequently earned his doctorate at the Otto-von-Guericke University of Magdeburg. Carlos Jahn held various management and staff positions in science and business before accepting the appointment as professor and head of the Institute of Maritime Logistics at the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg in 2009. In 2010 the Fraunhofer Center for Maritime Logistics and Services was founded.

Professor Kersten studied industrial engineering at the TU Darmstadt and earned his doctorate at the University of Passau. He then took on various management positions at Mercedes-Benz AG. In 1998, he was appointed to the Technical University of Hamburg (TUHH), where he established the Institute for Logistics and Corporate Management. Prof. Kersten conducts research on the digital transformation of companies and on risk and sustainability management in logistics. In addition, he is involved in scientific expert committees and expert groups as well as a member of advisory and supervisory boards.

Ralf Struckmeier ist seit 1997 in verschiedenen Führungspositionen beim IT-Beratungsdienstleister Lufthansa Industry Solutions tätig und verantwortet als Vice President Logistics seit mehr als 20 Jahren Projekte rund um die Supply Chain außerhalb des Lufthansa Konzerns in der Region DACH.  Nach seinem Studium zum Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur stieg er 1995 zunächst als IT-Consultant in die Branche ein und fokussierte sich dann zunehmend auf die Logistikbranche. Seine Leidenschaft zur Logistik zeigt sich auch in seinem Engagement zur Förderung der Branche am Standort Hamburg. So ist er Gründungsmitglied der LIHH und des Digital Hub Logistics und trägt als Kuratoriumsmitglied des ITMC-Management-Studiengangs der Uni Hamburg zur Förderung der Nachwuchskräfte in der Logistikbranche bei. Seit April 2024 ist er Mitglied des Vorstandes des Logistik-Initiative Hamburg e.V.

Alice Kirchheim ist seit 1. April 2024 Leiterin für den Institutsbereich Materialflusssysteme am Fraunhofer IML sowie für den Lehrstuhl Förder- und Lagerwesen an der Technischen Universität Dortmund.

Ihr Studium absolvierte Alice Kirchheim an der Technischen Universität Hamburg-Harburg. Nach dem Abschluss als Diplom Informatikingenieurin war sie zuerst am Bremer Institut für Produktion und Logistik an der Universität Bremen und später an der Hochschule Reutlingen als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin tätig. Ihre Dissertation verfasste sie über die Erkennung von Stückgütern für die automatische Entladung aus Ladungsträgern. Im Zeitraum von 2013 bis 2019 war Alice Kirchheim in verschiedenen Unternehmen der KION Gruppe in unterschiedlichen Positionen im Vertrieb manueller und automatischer Logistiksystemen tätig. Anschließend war sie als Professorin an der Hochschule Aalen tätig. Von März 2022 bis März 2023 war sie als Professorin für Technologie von Logistiksystemen an der Helmut-Schmidt-Universität / Universität der Bundeswehr in Hamburg tätig. Hier forschte und lehrte sie im Bereich der Planung und Auslegung von Logistiksystemen. Ihr Schwerpunkt liegt in der Entwicklung von Lösungen für die Autonomisierung logistischer Handhabungs-, Transport- und Umschlagprozesse.

Herr Klemke, 1983 in Hamburg geboren, ist Informatiker (BSc) und führt branchenübergreifend Digitalisierung mit neuen Geschäftsmodellen ein. Als CEO der NautilusLog GmbH bringt er Innovationen in die maritime Wirtschaft und fördert als ISO-Projektleiter digitale Ökosysteme sowie ESG-Wirkungen.

Franziska Kraupner, a native of Hamburg, joined the family business Eichhholtz GmbH after graduating in business administration from the Nordakademie and a longer professional stay abroad. After successfully building up various business areas, she joined the management of the company after a short time.

As a graduate computer scientist with more than 25 years of experience in the port, logistics, IT and finance sectors, Jens Meier is a recognised thought leader and much sought-after speaker with a strong media presence in the field of digitalisation and the future of the maritime economy. He has been CEO of the Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) since 2008. His previous professional stations include board positions at Fiege Holding, the tts Group, Systematics AG (later EDS) and Software Design & Management AG (Ernst & Young Group). In May 2019 Jens Meier was elected Vice-President of the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH). Jens Meier's honorary commitment includes positions as founding chairman of the Hamburger Informatik Forum e.V., several seats on supervisory boards and boards of trustees, and his position as president of the Hamburger Sport Verein e.V. from 2015 to 2018.

In das Familienunternehmen stieg sie 2006 ein, nachdem sie zuvor in Chicago bei Hegele Logistics im Qualitätsmanagement tätig war.

Der gebürtige Kieler Alexander Ralfs, Diplom-Kaufmann und MBA, begann seine berufliche Laufbahn 1999 im Lebensmittelhandel bei der SPAR Handels-AG in Hamburg Schenefeld. Im Jahr 2001 wechselte er zur Tchibo GmbH und wirkte dort am Aufbau des Online-Handels sowie des Supply Chain Managements mit. Während dieser Zeit war er in unterschiedlichen Führungsfunktionen tätig. Im Jahr 2015 transformierte er als Director Consumer Satisfaction sämtliche Serviceaktivitäten des Händlers,  bevor er 2018 die Gesamtverantwortung für das Supply Chain Management und die Logistik für das traditionsreiche Hamburger Familienunternehmen übernahm.

Sara Paul is a specialist for transport insurances (DVA) and has been working as a partner together with her father and sister at the broker SPEDITIONS-ASSEKURANZ GmbH, the family business specialized in all insurances around the logistics industry, since her training as an insurance agent. In 2017, together with her sister Sina Schlosser, she founded the insurance company ASSEKURANZ-KONTOR Geschwister Schlosser GmbH, where she serves as managing director. As a sideline, Ms. Paul is a member of the supervisory board of Overseas-Freightes AG, which specializes in ocean freight, and a founding member of the insurtech startup INSURFOX. In LIHH e.V. she has been involved in the working group Risk + Law for years.

Frank Schnabel, MBA and business economist, has been managing director of the SCHRAMM group / Brunsbüttel Ports GmbH for the ports/logistics sector since 2007. In 2017, Frank Schnabel, as Managing Director of Schramm Ports & Logistics Sweden AB, took over the majority shares of the Swedish port and logistics company SSHAB in Söderhamn.

Frank Schnabel is also a member of the presidium of the Central Association of German Seaport Operators, a member of the board and deputy chairman of the General Association of Schleswig-Holstein Ports and spokesman of the plant managers' meeting of ChemCoast Park Brunsbüttel.

Kerstin Wendt-Heinrich is Managing Director of TOP Mehrwert-Logistik GmbH & Co. KG. At the age of 18, she took over the human resources department of the family-owned company and joined the management team after graduating with a degree in business administration. She has been involved in voluntary work from the very beginning. For example, she is on the board of the Verband Straßengüterverkehr Hamburg (VSH), on the board of the Kundendienst-Verband Deutschland (KVD), a member of the plenum of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and also heads the Logistics, Port and Shipping Committee there. Since 2021 she has been Chairwoman of the Board of LIHH e.V. and Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of Logistik-Initiative Hamburg, and since 2022 Deputy Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of LIHH Management GmbH.

Ute Plambeck has been Group Representative for the states of HH and SH at Deutsche Bahn since 01.03.2023. Previously, she was Head of Human Resources at DB Netz AG, Head of North at DB Station & Service and held various positions at DB and predecessor organisations. positions at DB and predecessor organisations. Dr. Peter Bielert was born in 1964 in Verden an der Aller. After studying industrial engineering in Hamburg, he earned his doctorate in quality management at the Institute of Information Systems at the University of Hamburg. He then worked for pdv Unternehmensberatung GmbH. Since 2001, Dr. Peter Bielert has been working for F. Reyher Nchfg. GmbH & Co. KG in Hamburg in the areas of IT and logistics. Since 2009, he has been managing director of the company and is also responsible for purchasing, accounting and human resources.

In an honorary capacity, he is also a member of the Executive Committee of the AGA Unternehmensverband, Hamburg and of the Executive Committee of the Bundesverband Großhandel, Außenhandel, Dienstleistungen e.V., BGA, Berlin.

Professor Kersten studied industrial engineering at the TU Darmstadt and earned his doctorate at the University of Passau. He then took on various management positions at Mercedes-Benz AG. In 1998, he was appointed to the Technical University of Hamburg (TUHH), where he established the Institute for Logistics and Corporate Management. Prof. Kersten conducts research on the digital transformation of companies and on risk and sustainability management in logistics. In addition, he is involved in scientific expert committees and expert groups as well as a member of advisory and supervisory boards.

Ralf Struckmeier ist seit 1997 in verschiedenen Führungspositionen beim IT-Beratungsdienstleister Lufthansa Industry Solutions tätig und verantwortet als Vice President Logistics seit mehr als 20 Jahren Projekte rund um die Supply Chain außerhalb des Lufthansa Konzerns in der Region DACH.  Nach seinem Studium zum Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur stieg er 1995 zunächst als IT-Consultant in die Branche ein und fokussierte sich dann zunehmend auf die Logistikbranche. Seine Leidenschaft zur Logistik zeigt sich auch in seinem Engagement zur Förderung der Branche am Standort Hamburg. So ist er Gründungsmitglied der LIHH und des Digital Hub Logistics und trägt als Kuratoriumsmitglied des ITMC-Management-Studiengangs der Uni Hamburg zur Förderung der Nachwuchskräfte in der Logistikbranche bei. Seit April 2024 ist er Mitglied des Vorstandes des Logistik-Initiative Hamburg e.V.
